PS.: The answer is no, you don't need a dedicated GPU, and pro tools is now working just fine on mu PC. I don't know what has gotten it working, but I believe it was somewhere in these things I've tried. Seeing that I'd changed so many things in the configurations of pro tools recently, I've tried to enable the video engine again thinking it wouldn't work, but it did.
